Shaking things up a bit

So my amazing, gorgeous girlfriend Adriana came to visit me this weekend. It was only the second time I have seen her this summer, as work and distance keep us somewhat separated. We went out Friday night, had a fun dinner at TGI Friday's, drank, and then went gambling at the inland empire's premiere gaming casino, Pechanga! For those of you who don't know, the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians has called the Temecula valley home for more than 10,000 years. Life on earth began in this valley, Exva Temeeku, the place of the union of Sky— father, and Earth— mother (Tuukumit'pi Tamaayowit). The Temecula Indians (Temecula) lived at Temeekunga— the place of the sun (clearly this was all plagiarized).

The "place of the sun" now features slots, black jack tables, pai gow (i have no idea what this is), roulette, and a poker room.

It was a dark and cold night. Ms. Adri and I had just parked my trusty stead in stable I9. The windy whipped at our spurs, as we ambled up towards the public house. The locals paid us no attention, as Ms. Adri took my arm. I expected trouble, but received none, as the giant double doors opened up before us. The sheriff gazed over our way, but I met his gaze. As we locked eyes, his steely blues versus my penetrating brown, he instantly knew that Ms. Adri and I meant business, and that we were 21. The crowd parted and there before us was a golden roulette, with two empty chairs. We sat down, and were greeted by a automated voice, "place your bets please." I inserted my hard earned tip money I had gotten from the Amigos Tres gang, and placed two bits on black 13. The ball shot out. Round and round it went. The wheel spun effortlessly, as the ball made countless revolutions. Maddeningly the ball spun, seemingly without end. Gradually, the ball's orbit began to decline. Until suddenly it bounced. The wheel spun, the ball's trajectory and momentum were erratic until it finally came to rest. The wheel slowly turned now, but with a sense of finality. The automated voice came on again this time with news to report, "Black, 13. All bets paid." The night was just beginning.

Ok so I made just enough money at the casino, to not waste any of my tips and to pay for out drinks at dinner. For me, any time I can go gambling and not lose is winning, so it was a successful night.

Unfortunately, as the night drew to close I knew I was sleeping on the couch. My parents insist that Adri sleep in my bed whenever she stays. I slept terribly on the old couch. Fast forward to the next night, same results, just this time on an air mattress. You see, morning arrives early in my house when I don't have my own room. Cinco, has to be let out sometime around 6, and my parents usually wake up around 7. So around 7:30, after a night of tossing and turning, I moved to my parent’s now vacant bed to try rest a little. At which point God said, "I don't think so biatch." Just as I was drifting off to sleep, two tectonic plates decided to get into a brawl, and a 5.7 earthquake resulted which promptly shook me out of bed. It seems there truly is no rest for the weary, or at least for me, as there is no conclusive evidence that I am weary.
